Shine 28th Birthday @ The Telegraph Building
With a line-up consisting of some of the biggest hard techno DJ’s like Charlie Sparks and Parfait playing in the main room. To the some of the finest local talent Belfast has to offer in Andrew Cairns and Ethan Mitchell rocking room 2.
My eye was drawn to room 2 of this event to see what some of Ireland’s best up and coming DJs had to offer.
With Local DJ Andrew Cairns kicking off the event in Room 2 at 9:30. He delivered a unique set differing from his preferred hard techno set. Starting off with some hard groove tracks, he warmed the crowd up and got them excited for his B2B later on that night. Andrew turned an empty room 2 into an electric atmosphere as ravers made their way to room 2 as the sound spilled out into other areas of the venue. He moved into some harder sounds with some hard trance and early hardstyle. Andrew finished the set off with a crowd favourite “Iguana” by Mauro Picotto. A great set with an expected rowdy Belfast crowd bringing the energy.
The rising star, Veseli, headlined room 2, which was a must-attend set following the highly anticipated release of his track “Scream”. Following Azyr playing his unreleased track in his Boiler Room set at Teletech Festival this summer, the Irish DJs popularity sky rocketed and is now one of the most exciting hard techno DJ’s there is. His hard-hitting set, met with a crowd up for the occasion, left room 2 with one of the best sets it has ever seen. Veseli said on Instagram after the event, “You ravers left everything out on the dance floor. The power, the energy and love you gave me means the world.” Hopefully a return to Belfast is imminent for now fan-favourite Veseli.
Andrew Cairns and Ethan Mitchell went B2B for a legendary closing set to finish an epic night in room 2. The Exile Trax duo combined and provided ravers with an unforgettable set that blew the roof off the building. They delivered 90 mins of carnage. The pair maintained an energetic and busy crowd at the same time Charlie Sparks was closing the main room. This shows the love and support that these two receive from the Belfast crowd. Anyone who hasn’t seen these two play before will most definitely keep an eye out for their upcoming gigs.
Its great to see the emerging talent from Ireland being displayed in one of the biggest rave venues in Ireland. Its truly an exciting time with so many prospects coming through. The rave scene is more alive than ever in Ireland and its safe to say its in good hands.
